May the 4th be with you! Clayton Chamber 2.0 Is Ready to Launch

Clayton Chamber Collective Members and prospective Members are invited to come join us for a May 4th launch event from 5-7pm at the Commerce Bank Tower Terrace at 8001 Forsyth Blvd. There is no cost to attend, but those wishing to join us should register in advance on the Clayton Chamber Collective events page (see registration link below).

Event attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about our strategic plan, meet our Board Members and Sponsors, find out about plans for the future, as well as learn about our young professionals group and how to get involved. Most importantly, the Clayton Chamber Collective is excited to meet all of you and welcome you to our organization, a collaborative venture where there is room and value for all sizes and types of organizations and professionals in our community.

Clayton Chamber Collective Partners with Catalyst Program

The future of business in Clayton is about collaboration, innovation, and community which is why the Clayton Chamber Collective is proud to partner with Clayton High School and the Clayton Catalyst Program. This experiential learning program provides a business curriculum for students, and an incredible resource for businesses in our community. As part of our commitment to growing the future of business in Clayton, the Chamber has two students from the Catalyst Program serving on our board in an ex-officio capacity. Bela Infante and Lauren Wiegers are our inaugural student board members and have brought incredible energy to our team.

In addition, Justin Hildebrand, Clayton Chamber Collective Board Member and head of the Clayton Catalyst Program, challenged his students to help us create our logo and branding with a student marketing competition. We are proud to announce the winning team of Ella Edler, Vivian Cissna and Davy Nhek-Morrissey. While the student teams provided a number of impressive options for the Board to choose from, the work of these three students stood out from the rest. We felt that they truly captured the spirit and feel of Clayton and our Collective approach to building community. They then worked together with the Chamber Board to fine tune the design and color palette. The Clayton Chamber Collective is awarding them a $500 prize in recognition of their incredible work, which we are proud to feature on our marketing materials and website for years to come.

Washington University MBA Student Develops New Chamber Strategic Plan

Clayton Chamber of Commerce 2.0

The City of Clayton is a major hub for our County Government, as well as large corporations to small businesses. It represents a major economic force within Metropolitan St. Louis as well as the State of Missouri. As you know, the Clayton Chamber of Commerce was dissolved in 2024. A group of former members and concerned business owners convened to establish a long-term solution for the business community going forward. Thanks to the efforts of our research partner, Washington University Olin Business School, and especially Academic Director of Experiential Learning and Curricular Advancement, Michael Wall as well as Professional MBA student Riya Zachariah, we now have a roadmap for our newly formed Chamber Board to follow.

Their research into successful Chambers confirmed and recommended the best path forward would include the involvement of all four pillars represented in our business community: 1-Large Organizations, 2-Regional Anchors, 3-Small Businesses, and 4-Entrepreneurs & Sole Proprietors. As a Board, we chose to include a fifth pillar representing Non-Profit organizations. The Chamber Board includes members from all five pillars and looks forward to including organizations from Clayton and surrounding municipalities. This collaborative approach across business segments and the inclusion of our surrounding community is what inspired our new Collective branding.

While we have established this solid framework and foundation, we are turning to you, the business community, to put the full plan in motion. We hope that you consider joining the Clayton Chamber Collective. It will take all of us to make this a successful venture to provide meaningful and relevant support for members both today and into the future.
